Gender Roles!

It is a common situation in many countries around the world to think “Women are oppressed”, but it shouldn’t. When we let people think that women in a country are oppressed, we states that this situation still continues and they aren´t doing something to change it. If women would be oppressed, there could not be possibility of a change, neither.
Commonly, people relate women with a general place: home; also, relate them with activities like: cook, sweep and take care of her children. So, with time this has become in the common stereotype of a lot of countries. Among those countries, we can find Colombia and India.

At India, for example, girls are worthless than boys at family and it is the reason by which the rate of girls aborted, abandoned and abused is very high in this country. Generally, girls help with house-works since his childhood, they can’t play and get fun on their free time, some girls don’t go to school and even, when they are in orphanages the olders have to take of the youngest children because they have to get responsability to be a good woman, responsibility that is not instiled on boys.
Instead, at Colombia, girls can do this things. They help with house-works when are teenagers, they can play and get fun in their childhood, they get access to education and they are not raise up to instil them a sense of responsibility. However, a common aspect in both countries is that women’s roles in social, political and economical aspect is low due to the exclusion.

In the last years, women have empowers women about their situation and his place in the society. Nowaday, we can see a lot of women exerting as engineers, scientifics, politicians. This situation is changing with and women are making this change every day bigger.
